For your team presentation (a minimum of 10 minutes), you will be required to come up with a negotiation scenario. You will describe the scenario to the class, in a way that effectively explains both sides of the story. Each team member will share in the experience of explaining the scenario in full detail. You will need to share with the class which type of bargaining was used: distributive bargaining or integrative bargaining. Additionally, you will need to explain why this type of bargaining was used (refer to chapters 2 and 3, in the textbook – 7th ed.).
Remember that there are three primary stages that take place during a negotiation: prenegotiation stage, formal negotiation stage, and agreement stage. Explain, in detail, what has taken place in each of these stages (refer to chapter 13, in the textbook as well as the in-class activity for week 6). Be sure to address these questions, during your presentation (refer to ch. 7, in the textbook):
- What was communicated during the negotiation?
- How effective were you throughout the negotiation process?
- If any issues arrived, how could you have improved your communication? (optional)
- Under what category of the five conflict management does your negotiation agreementm fall (contending, accommodating, inaction, problem-solving, or compromising)? (refer to ch. 1, in the textbook)
Please keep in mind that you will be graded on your approach to the presentation as well as whether each required element was addressed so ensure that you are incorporating each requirement, within your presentation.
