analyze the gendered dynamics of work today. The exact object of your analysis is up to you! Some possible objects of analysis include: a work experience of your own; a set of statistics about contemporary work; a set of newspaper accounts; an interview with other workers; an advice book about work; a film, novel or TV account of work (note that in this case the analysis is of what the author or director is doing, not analyzing a work of art as if it were an empirical document). You could also do a comparison, for instance between an activity that counts as “work” in one context and not another or between jobs that are paid or managed differently as the gender/race of the workforce shifts. These are just examples.

The purpose of this paper is primarily analytic. Given that, you should choose an object that will not require you to do a lot of new empirical research. Instead, you should choose something that will allow you to put your attention on using the theoretical frameworks read about this term.
