Why or why not?Be sure to reply to a classmate.Paola De Loera星期三5月25日 16:15管理讨论条目Discussion Chapter 10: Middle Eastern Americans“The term Middle Eastern is used as an umbrella term to encompass the large numbers of people in the region who are in fact incredibly diverse” (Gutierrez). Like the term Latinx, the term Middle Eastern involves a range of cultures, languages, and religions. For instance, within languages, the most used are Arabic, Farsi, and Hebrew. Within cultures, there are Arab, Persian, Israeli, and Turkish. Finally, within religion there are Muslim, Jewish, and Christian. All three main religions shared a few aspects within Islam, Judaism, and Christianity. For instance, their belief is based on one God or monotheism, in addition to stories of human origin (Fig. 10.4).MENA most definitely should be added on to the U.S. Census because it offers identity and existence on government paper for Middle Eastern and North African communities. There is no denying the U.S. is a diverse country, therefore it should offer diverse categories on the U.S. Census. Adding MENA would help with small business loans, crimes committed against, and representation on government documents.Work Cited:Gutierrez, Erika, et al.
