To be regarded as effective, each leader sought to embody distinct principles. The most crucial values for a leader are integrity, courage, the capacity to influence people, recognition, and loyalty. Each leader holds integrity as a vital principle. A leader with integrity is one that is true to their words, real in their acts and speech, and models the behaviours they would like other employees to exhibit. The leadership quality of courage is shared by almost all virtuous leaders. Leaders with courage can make difficult decisions and lead with authority. Leaders must also be able to convince others in a company to do the right thing through real and transparent communication. Leaders should serve as role models for others by upholding basic company principles and aligning with critical business goals.Every leader who wishes to motivate and connect with his or her people must prioritize recognition (Heathfield). Leaders must reward their personnel if they are to achieve their goals because what is recognized is repeated. Most employees want to be recognized by their bosses. A strong leader also instils loyalty in others, treats them with respect, and makes them feel valued. Being loyal allows a leader to build long-term relationships. Loyalty propels a leader beyond the confines of his or her workplace and into a universe created on purpose (Boyd). Finally, these five key values are critical in the lives of all leaders. They allow a leader to maintain positive relationships with those he leads, whether at work or in other settings. Leaders must embrace these ideals and make them a part of their culture.ReferencesBoyd, A. (2020). 4 Authentic ways to establish loyalty as a leader. Published in LeadershipHeathfield, S., M. (2020) Leadership Rewards and Recognition. the balance careersDiscussion two.A leader’s dominant values play an essential role in determining the team’s values and furthering the organization’s culture.Responsibility: Responsibility makes me worthwhile to offer. If a person is not accountable, he won’t be liable. For example, submitting assignments on time is my responsibility. If I don’t submit it within the deadline, I will be accountable. Therefore, a responsible person will perform his task to the best of his abilities because he knows he is liable.Balance: It’s essential to have balance in life, including personal and professional life. A boundary setting is required in today’s fast-paced working environment. One of my past employers didn’t like me to leave the office on time, which created dissatisfaction within me. As a result, I had to resign from the job.Collaboration- An individual cannot have expertise in all the fields. Therefore, a team comes into play. Team members motivate the other people in the group, which will improve productivity, increasing efficiency and the organization’s profit.Loyalty: An individual should be loyal to himself and his work. When a person is dedicated to the organization, he will give his best to achieve the desired result. If he isn’t loyal to himself, he might be frustrated and unhappy with his job or life.Justice: If a person cannot provide justice to his work, it will affect the organization’s performance.Authentic leaders display consistent beliefs, values, and actions (Hughes et al., 2022). Thus, exhibiting these dominant values in all situations is essential. If a value is sacrificed for once, it will always get sacrificed. It is easier to stick to values of 100 percent rather than sticking to 98 percent (Hughes et al., 2022). These values will help me become a good leader who cares for the people and the organization.Reference:Hughes, R. L., Ginnett, R. C., & Curphy, G. J. (2022).
