GET A PROFESSIONAL PAPER DONE BY AN EXPERT
For this assignment, you will choose two (2) of the texts on the syllabus and compare and contrast their representations of Chicana/o/x identities. That means you will choose two of the following texts: “I am Joaquín/Yo soy Joaquín,” Bless Me, Ultima, The House on Mango Street, Borderlands/La Frontera: The New Mestiza, “La Güera,” and The Miraculous Day of Amalia Gómez. You may choose to write on a text that you wrote on for your cultural analysis paper. The two main questions you will answer in your textual comparison paper are:How do these two texts represent Chicana/o/x identities? What are the differences and/or similarities between these literary representations of Chicana/o/x identities? The identities you examine can be racial, gender, sexual, class, religious, and/or historical. You are required to craft a main argument that answers the questions above. You will state your main argument in your introductory paragraph and develop and advance it in each body paragraph of your paper. In your conclusion, you should wrap up any loose ends rather than merely repeat what you stated in your introduction. Do not use the five-paragraph model for this paper. The five-paragraph model (an intro, three body paragraphs, and a conclusion) limits your imagination and constrains your critical thinking, a necessity to write a sophisticated, complex paper. Do not be afraid to write more than five paragraphs; always use as many paragraphs as necessary to make your argument. You are also required to use evidence from both texts to support your main argument. This means that you should quote words, phrases, and sentences from both texts and analyze these quotes, much like you do in your discussion responses. Literary scholars rely on close reading—analyzing quotes from the text—to provide evidence for their arguments. Use MLA style for your citations. MLA style is very simple. It uses parenthetical in-text citations that look like this: (Anzaldúa 37). Include a works cited page in MLA style with entries for the two texts you write on. Google “Purdue OWL”
