For this assignment, you will choose two (2) of the texts on the syllabus and compare and contrast their representations of Chicana/o/x identities. That means you will choose two of the following texts: “I am Joaquín/Yo soy Joaquín,” Bless Me, Ultima, The House on Mango Street, Borderlands/La Frontera: The New Mestiza, “La Güera,” and The Miraculous Day of Amalia Gómez. You may choose to write on a text that you wrote on for your cultural analysis paper.The two main questions you will answer in your textual comparison paper are:How do these two texts represent Chicana/o/x identities? What are the differences and/or similarities between these literary representations of Chicana/o/x identities?The identities you examine can be racial, gender, sexual, class, religious, and/or historical.You are required to craft a main argument that answers the questions above.
