part1: Using the second map, construct a Pi diagram using all 16 strikes and dips west of the Mirkwood Fault. Strike and dip values are given at each symbol, so you do not have to use a protractor to measure strike. Remember, right hand rule. Give the plunge and trend of the folds that you got using the Pi diagram. If you were to estimate the plunge and trend just by looking at the map, would these values line up with your estimate? Why or why not?
Part 2: Construct a cross section along the A-A’ line. Use the list given in lab 7 as a reference for what to include. Everything on that list will count towards your grade. The A-A’ line is 4 km long. Use the strike and dip calculated in part 1 for Tr and Tg. Assume Thd is horizontal. Be sure to show the sense of slip on the fault.
