Assignment Brief:This assignment requires you to identify, research and analyse three occupational health hazards from your place of work or from an occupational setting you are familiar with. The submission should be written from the perspective of a safety practitioner, reporting back to the Chief Executive. The main body of the report should take the following format:Part 1 (approx. 600 words) Provide a description of your chosen workplace and organisation. This should include the size of the organisation, the nature of work undertaken, the employment profile and the work patterns. The health and safety management structure should be included with an indication of such matters as worker engagement, resources and housekeeping which may give some indication as to the health and safety culture. You should also include identification of the significant occupational health hazards in the work environment and must ensure that you include at least three different classes of hazard.Part 2 (approx. 2000 words) You need to select three of the hazards identified in part 1 and ensure they exemplify three different classes of hazard. Marks cannot be awarded if a class is duplicated. Identify which class of hazard each represents and explain the type of ill-health each hazard might cause and the extent of the ill-health caused in the country where your workplace is based. You should also explain why the hazard is significant at your chosen site. For each hazard and with reference to the literature, critically analyse how your organisation has assessed and/or might have assessed the magnitude of the risks associated with each of the three hazards. This should address the key steps of each risk assessment, including consideration of who undertook the assessment and the extent to which the assessment could be said to be suitable and sufficient and represent good practice. Any significant weaknesses in the risk assessment procedures should be identified. You should then critically analyse the existing control measures that are in place and then justify additional measures that may be necessary to meet the minimum legal requirements. You should also identify additional control measures which could be taken to exceed minimum legal compliance
