Learning Goal: I’m working on a writing multi-part question and need guidance to help me learn. For the following scenario, you will use data to inform instructional grouping based on how students are doing with their reading fluency. You will then choose what type of instruction each group will receive based on the group’s needs, linking it with RTI tiers.According to research conducted by Rasinski and Manzo, third-grade students should be reading somewhere between a performance level of 86 and 124 words per minute on a third-grade fluency probe (with the median being 110 words per minute). Hasbrouck and Tindal (2006) suggest that third-grade students typically improve their reading rate of growth by 1.1 words per week.Mrs. Rogers, a third-grade teacher, decided to give a series of fluency assessments to students over the first quarter of the school year in order to determine the current level of her students so that she could make appropriate instructional decisions throughout the school year. The data from her oral reading fluency assessments are below: Student NameWeek 1Week 2Week 3Week 4Week 5Week 6Week 7Week 8Amy7274747476747475Corey8891919394949698Desiree6062636465666767Feroz5049495051515351Maddie6869707172737374Ruby9294969698110115120Thomas3838383740384039Xavier5253545454535556Zoey100100101103110115122124Graph each student’s data in an Excel spreadsheet (Click here to create graph Download Click here to create graph). (4 points)Create three groups of students based on their assessment scores. Write a justification for why you placed each student into the group you did. Be sure to to link your justification with student scores, including rate of growth and performance level; see IRIS module RTI, Part 2 for steps (6 points). To find performance level, take the average of the last three scores for the student and determine whether it is in the expected range based on the information provided in the scenario. To find rate of growth, use this calculator provided in the IRIS, RTI Part 2: https://iris.peabody.vanderbilt.edu/mcontent/calculator-slope/#content (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.. You will input the information for the student and compare it to the expected improvement in reading in the scenario.Discuss what types of instruction (i.e., reading instruction) each group should receive and link to RTI. Be sure to justify your choices and link to RTI tiers. Also, be sure to indicate what you will do if students do not respond to chosen instruction (e.g., different tiers, referral for evaluation to determine special education eligibility, etc.) (8 points)Assignments should be presented in Microsoft Word and should include the following (2 points):Title pageTyped, double-spaced, and in 12-point fontImage of graphed dataAccurate spelling and grammarAccurate APAReference page (must include your textbook)Less than 25% matchPlease use Assignment 2 Template. docx-3.dEditActionsfor this assignment.
