MSEM601 WU Management Discussion

For this weeks Discussion, we have a pretty straight-forward Operations case study to analyze and work through. Remember, take it slow and think through the process. NB

Draw a process flow diagram for the registration process at a local college having the following steps:

  • For Step 1, all students were required to have their registration data reviewed and confirmed by the college representative. Approximately, 10% of students did not complete their registration forms correctly and had to have them reviewed again
  • Students from outside the state, roughly one-quarter of the total, were required to enroll in the out-of-state health coverage plan
  • Students could then sign up for a variety of services such as meal plans, bus passes, and parking
  • The payment of fees and tuition was performed next
  • After payment, students would proceed to the card processing office for their photograph (Step 5), their student card coded (Step 6), and issued (Step 7). Students would enter the office, where they would take a number and wait to be called for their photograph. After their photograph, students would wait again in the waiting area for their cards to be processed.
