I’m trying to study for my Health & Medical course and I need some help to understand this question.
The University of Arizona has many policies like the Title IX, for example. This title has to do with “no person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subject to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance” (University of Arizona, 2021). This all has to do with Title IX of the educational amendments of 1972 to the 1964 civil rights act (University of Arizona, 2021). By promoting this Title IX on campus overall, it doesn’t matter where you come from, whether it be a low or high socioeconomic status or depending on what financial/health standings you have. The university will accept anyone and everyone so long as they meet the educational requirements. I think this has to do with individuals in the community that have to do with health. I say this because it doesn’t matter what you look like or how you want to identify. You are welcomed into the University of Arizona.
The university is committed to providing a safe and positive learning/living/working environment(University of Arizona, 2021). Which could lead to health outcomes in their students. When talking about the community, in this case, we are talking about the community of students and faculty of the University of Arizona. Making their students and faculty feel safe and living and working in a positive environment could benefit those students and faculty in things like their mental health. The university also promotes free speech. So if a student is indicating that they are not feeling well or something is going on with their health in general, they are free to speak their minds when it comes to this kind of topic.
