Paper: This semester we will research the Gullah Geechee. Due to COVID I do not expect you to physically go to a library or archive. All the sources you need can be found on line. The paper must be at least 10 pages but I have no official maximum. You will write about the origins of the Gullah Geechee as well as selecting something insightful/particular to the Gullah to focus on – that could be related to food ways, language, family structure, cultural development- whatever interests you. Please email me your ideas for your paper by July 7th. The paper should be double spaced, 12 pt font and include a bibliography and footnotes where applicable. The paper is 25% of your grade.
