Project: SAP—Developing the Training Materials

In the previous unit, you created a design for the security awareness program of Advanced Topologies, Inc. That design included a needs assessment with a list of security topics you need to cover. Based on this material, you should have a good understanding of all materials needed for the SAP and how their development should be prioritized. In addition, you have identified the roles and responsibilities in the organization, and you have suggested a security awareness communication model.

Given what you know about the firm and each security message you identified during your needs assessment, it is time to further the development of your SAP by building all the materials. If Advanced Topologies likes your ideas, they will hire you to lead the implementation phase of the SAP.

For the development phase of the project, you will create the training materials required for your security awareness program. Consider your target audience and the security measures you need to deliver. Which training materials best match the audience and the message? Think about how you can effectively use presentations, conferences, seminars, e-mails, posters, courses, or advisories when creating your materials. Refer to Chapter 4 of NIST SP800-50 from this unit’s Learning Resources for additional security awareness topics.

Create the SAP training materials you identified during the design phase. Your materials must include at least one of each of the following but may include additional materials:

  • A presentation that includes 15–20 slides on a security topic that will require employee training
  • A bulletin board poster (8” x 11”) that contains a critical security awareness message for employees
  • An email-advisory (300–550 words) making employees aware of a specific security topic or issue

Make sure your training materials follow the APA style.
