the following description is the assignment requirement:
“Your zine should examine situations and experiences of resistance as they happen in The Trials of Socrates, Antigone, and Citizen as well as in your own life.
You may use direct quotes from the texts; you may refer to themes that emerge in the text; you may make a zine that is primarily text, a zine that is primarily image, or a combination of both. It’s up to you, so long as you make specific reference to the above-listed texts AS WELL AS YOUR OWN EXPERIENCE.
This assignment SHOULD NOT include outside research. I am not particularly interested in biographical material about the authors unless you connect it directly to an issue in the text you intend to analyze. This assignment should be treated as a conversation between you and the texts and if the texts are confusing or difficult for you, this might be an excellent “conversation” to have in a zine.
I do not have a hard and fast length requirement nor do I have a preferred structure/layout for the zine.”
what I need you to do is: show you understanding about these poems(total 4)
you dont have to read whole books. maybe some part of them, and pick 10 little sentences or paragraphs from the poems, and give your own understanding, experiences of resistance as they happen in The Trials of Socrates, Antigone, and Citizen as well as in your own life.
example:
1.”strong for him. Zeus hates an arrogant boast, With towering hatred. He saw the river of men attack, 130 Their golden armor clashing in contempt, And so he struck the man down with a missile of fire As he swooped toward his highest goal, Eager to shout “Victory!”(page 20,Antigone) —- I learned that ……(your understanding) ,and in our life…….(connection about real life)
