Prepare the research paper on a Microsoft word-processor (extension.docx) using a style with professional business practices. This paper will use the style guide of the American Psychological Association, aka APA format, as the standard. The APA style will assure a proper level of consistency, professional appearance, organization, effective authentication, and documentation. Furthermore, quality work must be free of spelling and grammatical errors.

(1) Research paper will be double-spaced. Please include, as the first page of the assignment, a title page that provides appropriate identifying information. The paper assignment will require a minimum number of five pages of research (body text); that is, the title page, table of contents, abstract, references, tables, figures, appendices, etc. are not included in the total number of body text submitted. The student must properly cite sources in the body of the paper and must provide an appropriate list titled “References” as the last page of the written assignment. Every bibliographic source must appear in the text and be cited in an APA format. An example of an APA document can be found at the following websites:

For example, according to the general APA guidelines, your paper should be typed on standard-sized paper (8.5″ x 11″), using 12 pt., Times New Roman font, setting 1″ margins on all sides, with the following page layout: indent of 0” left and right, spacing 0 pt before and after, etc.

(2) Submit your research paper only by using a computer or laptop. Do not use other electronic devices (e.g., cell phones, iPad, etc.).

(3) The paper assignment will be submitted to the professor only via Canvas (under Modules, click on Week Eight tap, locate the text header Activities/Assessments, select the indented text header Research Paper. Then you can upload your paper as an attachment), on or before the due day, and in no circumstances will this paper assignment be submitted by e-mail or deadline be extended. A timely preparation of the paper is encouraged.

(4) The student will have multiple attempts to submit the assignment. The latest version of the research paper will be considered for grade.

(5) Once the paper is ready to be submitted, students are required to verify that the assignment was successfully uploaded by checking the size of the document and viewing the entire paper as it is intended. There is no excuse for uploading a blank paper or corrupted file.

(6) Students are required to immediately verify Canvas’s notification status before you make the assumption that the paper assignment was successfully submitted.

(7) No research paper will be accepted after the due.

(8) Authentication, Plagiarism, and Citing: Review the Tarleton ethical requirements. The student will be responsible to authenticate all information submitted for grading. This means that every cite sources must authenticate facts, statements, and opinions that were derived from one or more sources. (3) The conclusions are well-supported and organized point by point

(4) Material from all sources is properly referenced and cited

(5) APA format is properly used (e.g., no extra spacing between paragraphs, titles, subtitles, no listings, etc.). In case of listing or providing additional material (e.g., tables, graphs) use the appendices at the end of the paper following the APA format.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

If a student submitted an incomplete paper (e.g., introduction) or other type of writing assignment (e.g., essay) or a paper with no proper citations in the text (e.g., support valid and verifiable arguments), a grade of zero (0) will be granted and no points will be given for participating in the 2nd DB.
