Statistics in the Context of Agriculture – Report – 2000 words

SEE ATTACHED . I AM IN GROUP M

To write a report of about 2000 words (10% margin applies), not including reference lists, table/figures and appendix.

undefined

The report should be written in impersonal style and include the following sections:

undefined

Introduction: providing brief resume of how the crop was grown to place the results in context (aim for 250 words max, plus 1 table summarizing treatments and husbandry choices ie seeds rates, splitting of treatments, etc).

undefined

Results: a description and analysis of the results – this should at least include an analysis of variance (ANOVA) of the yield data as well as gross margin analysis. You could then address the question of whether differences in grain yields or specific quality parameters were mostly associated with specific treatments and/or husbandry choices. (Tables and graphic outputs of statistical analyses should be shown in this section; raw data used for analyses should be included in the appendix).

undefined

It is up to you to make the decision of which crop parameters to focus your analysis and discussion: the decision should be justified on the basis of what you have learned about the specifications required for the end uses of your wheat and will therefore form part of the marking criteria for your report.

undefined

Discussion: Given your result(s) what markets could / could not be suitable for your grain?

undefined

How could crop choice / management / selling have been improved – what were the good and bad decisions (considering your specific cv and, therefore, end uses) – why were your results as they were?

undefined

References: They have to include primary sources. Referencing format required is Harvard Referencing

undefined

Appendix: It must include description of each specific test conducted on your grain (how the test was performed and the principle behind it) with a couple of sentences each on:

undefined

  • For what grain market (s) is (are) the test relevant?
  • Why do the above markets use the test?
