GET A PROFESSIONAL PAPER DONE BY AN EXPERT

Students will write an 5-7 page paper (12-point Times New Roman, double-spaced) in which they use two specific criminological theories (e.g, routine activities, general strain), from two distinct fields of criminological inquiry (e.g., biological theories, conflict theories), to explain a true crime of their choice. Students should define the core components of each theory and then discuss how the theories explain the crime (this will require students to research aspects of the offenders’ life). Students should conclude by which theory best explains the crime. Peer-reviewed literature should be used to discuss the theories (at least three references), but information about the specific crime will likely come from periodicals (at least three different sources).*NOTE: The submission folder for the research paper is in “Week of May 9th: Research Paper Submission” which is the week that it is due.Students also have the option to turn in a rough draft for feedback (completely optional). That submission folder is in the “Week of April 18th: Life Course Perspectives.”Additional instructions:While the theories and true crimes are entirely up to you, there are specific components of the paper that must be present:Title pageExamples of 3 common types of titlesQuestion: Can Strain Theory Explain Ted Bundy’s Crimes?Summary: Brain Damage, Impulsivity, and Crime2-part: Differential Association Theory and Ailene Wuornos: Learning to KillAbstractShort (50-100 words) summary of entire paper. It should describe the topic, why it is important, and the overall findings (it may be easier to write these after the paper is written)IntroductionInteresting openingThesis statement (purpose of the paper—“This paper uses rational choice theory and social disorganization theory to explain Ted Bundy’s crimes”)Literature ReviewBody paragraphs (can be organized differently, but this is an example of how you can organize):Define 1st theory (include all core components)Tie 1st theory to offender’s crime (usually by describing their background)Define 2nd theory (include all core components)Tie 2nd theory to offender’s crime (usually by describing their background)ConclusionChoose a theory to best explain the crime and explain your reasoningSummarize your paper, restate key points
