” Books are often adapted as movies. Gatsby has been adapted three times (butwe’ll only be considering two…) The film versions appeared in 1975 and 2013, and both were full-scale Hollywood productions that featured major actors/actresses, directors, and screenwriters. Both are easily accessible via YouTube, Netflix, and so on. You can compare the novel to a film OR compare a similar scene from the two films. The handouts I gave you includes a few likely scenes to analyze—let’s chat about options. But you MUST make sure that you are referring to SPECIFIC scenes, not just writing a list about how the movie does some things that are different than the book. How might the film make use of techniques such as setting, dialogue, characterization, voice, etc…?
Also, please tell us the page number(s) when you refer to the book and the minutes/seconds for any film clip. Do not forget this part, please!”
