I’m trying to learn for my Cultural Studies class and I’m stuck. Can you help?

McDonald’s is the basis of one of the most influential developments in contemporary society. According to Ritzer, the McDonaldization of society is a phenomenon that occurs when society, its institutions, and its organizations are adapted to have the same characteristics that are found in fast-food chains. These include efficiency, calculability, predictability and standardization, and control. In today’s world, the effects of McDonaldization can be seen in all aspects of life, not just in the food industry but also in culture, globalization, education, and higher education.
