In 2-3 sentences, briefly describe a problem, issue, or controversy you could research for Writing Project 3: Annotated Bibliography. The problem, issue, or controversy you explore here should be derived from the core readings in one of two ways: (1) it must either be inspired by a problem or issue addressed in one of the core readings, or (2) it must relate to the overall theme of the core readings selected by your instructor.
Next, find three images that illustrate different aspects of this problem or issue or that represent the views of three different stakeholders on the issue. Images may include news photos, ads, cartoons, posters, charts and graphs, or any other public images.
Think of this as creating a COLLAGE of images that define your topic. Take care to select DIFFERENT images from DIFFERENT sites and showing DIFFERENT approaches to the topic. Example: If the topic is child abuse, a student would not show three similar images of abused and crying children. Instead, one might show, for instance, one image of a CASA volunteer in court, one image of a concerned teacher contacting a parent, and one image of a shopper in Walmart ignoring a child being beaten in the next aisle. (Note: Please use caution to post or link only to images that are appropriate for general academic distribution.)
Be sure to provide a web link or citation for each image so others can find it again easily. Use whatever technique you are most comfortable with to provide access to three images that illustrate the complexity of your chosen topic.
Provide a brief discussion of each image, describing why/how you selected it, and how it illustrates an aspect of the problem or controversy. What is the meaning of each image for you and for your topic? Why is this a significant or representative image? You may also comment on any sorts of images you were hoping to find, but couldn’t.
Your initial post should be at least 200 original words.
