Economic data analysis research paper: Health insurance rates across different age groups

The assignment is to formulate an interesting economic question, develop a research plan for bringing data to bear on this economic question, obtain and manage the dataset, and use econometric methods in conjunction with this data, informed by economic theory, to analyze and hopefully answer the original economic question. More specifically, your economic question should link to one or more key measurable variables and postulate whether there are differences in these measures across two or more identifiable sub-groups in the population. A key requirement for the paper is that it must include one or more formal statistical hypotheses and statistical tests of those hypotheses.

2. Literature Review a. Discussion of published analysis on the topic, their key findings and how/why your approach or sample may be different.

3. Methodology/Data a. Describe data sources and statistical methods to be employed. This should include a clear description of how your statistical method links to the question posed in the introduction. b. Include summary statistics (sample means, standard errors, sample size, correlation statistics) of your data.

4. Findings/Observations a. This section presents the results of your statistical analysis. b. Present/summarize your formal statistical test(s) and the conclusion(s) that follow. c. Include a discussion of how your results are in line with, or deviate from, what would be suggested by economic theory. d. Discussion of any limitations to your analysis that might affect your results.

5. Conclusion a. Summary of your findings. b. Include a discussion of any potential deficiencies in your analysis and/or available data

write paragraph in one page

This assignment requires you to write a no more than one-page paragraph about the best or worst job you’ve had sometime in your life. This job could have been a paid or an unpaid one.

You must use a variety of sentences in your paragraph. Underline and label examples of:

  • Three compound sentences using:
  • Two complex sentences using different subordinating conjunctions. Use both patterns:
  • a coordinating conjunction (CC)
  • a semicolon (SC)
  • a transitional word or phrase (TWP)
  • DC, IC.
  • IC DC.

ex: I was worried about being able to fulfill the job responsibilities, but I found that the tasks were not as difficult as I expected. (Compound: CC).

ex: Although I was worried about being able to fulfill the job responsibilities, I found that the tasks were not as difficult as I expected. (Complex: DC, IC.)

Follow these instructions carefully:

  • Adhere to manuscript format.
  • Adhere to the length requirement; one page means one page; if you hand in a paragraph longer than one page, I will NOT read the second page, and you will lose points for not including all the required elements. Include the word count at the bottom of the page.
  • Refer to the model paragraph we discussed in class (on reverse). Your paragraph must have a title, a topic sentence, three major supports, at least two supporting details for each of the major supports, and a concluding statement that restates your three major supports. Move from major support to major support with transitions.
  • Make an outline of your paragraph; hand this outline in with your paper. Your outline must support the final version of your paper.
  • Your paragraph should have no more than five (5) underlined and labeled sentences. Including more will not earn you any additional points; in fact, you will lose points for not following instructions.
  • Your grade will be based not only on your including these required sentences, but also on your applying the grammar skills that we have learned so far this semester.

Include the word count. (Do not include the header/heading in this count)

3-4 page PERSUASIVE PAPER – popular music history class- (THE THESIS NEEDS TO BE APPROVED FIRST)

-Write a 3-4 page persuasive essay that tracks and explains a development in popular music you believe is historically significant. To do so, use the three artists/acts, from the list below.

IMPORTANT: I need you to write me WHAT development you want to write about, and the Thesis statement for approval first (as soon as you accept the assignment) . Please give me a few options so we don’t have to go back and forth.

The List:

  • “Good Vibrations” written by (Love-Wilson); recorded by The Beach Boys (1966)

Focus Event: TIME magazine warns dangers of LSD

  • “Respect” written by (Redding); recorded by Aretha Franklin (1967)

Focus Event: Martin Luther King, Jr. assassinated

Focus Event: Robert F. Kennedy assassinated

  • “Purple Haze” written by (Hendrix); recorded by Jimi Hendrix Experience (1967)

Focus Event: The publication of the issue of Rolling Stone

Focus Event: Monterey Pop Festival

IMPORTANT: I need you to write me WHAT development you want to write about, and the Thesis statement for approval first . Please give me a few options so we don’t have to go back and forth.

The format of the paper:

-Title (let reader know the specific subject you’ll be considering)

-Introduction (with a killer thesis statement on “ A development in popular music you believe is historically significant” and where you clearly let the reader know what each body paragraph will be about/ also introduction must name each artists and the specific songs studied/plus period)

-3 or 4 body paragraphs

-conclusion (must be a summary of the essay -if I read the conclusion I must be able to understand the entire essay).

Citations:

The readings I will attach will be required to be cited. There are 3 readings per artist (to make it easier for you the readings related to Aretha I will add a “ARETHA” in the beginning of the file name, for Jimi “JIMI”, and for The Beach Boys “BOYS”)– NOT ALL THE READINGS I AM ABLE TO ATTACH SO I WILL ATTACH the rest once you accept(I was able tom attach 5 out of 9)

External citations from credible sources are also required.

YOU MUST:

-For all informations on the artists, you must STICK to the year/time of the song given (Not their entire careers or other parts of their careers).

-The thesis statement must be extremely clear. The class is on history of popular music, and over explaining ‘arts’/’what music does’ etc will not be accepted as the professor already knows it. Meaning, it must be written in a “musician’s perspective”.

-An outline is needed (in the outline, please write the entire thesis statement).

-Events that happened during the song are important factors (events are under each song on the list).

-Keep in mind visual aspects, fashion, musicality, geography, economy, race, gender, if the artists are singer-songwriter or fabricated artists(songs are written for them), the rise of an increased visual culture, rock and roll being breached out of R&B.

-focus on SPECIFICS – do not be vague, or give clues, be very very specific. Specificity is key for this assignment.

-Do not make big Claims! Because big claims are usually hard to support.

-Every time you make a claim, you MUST support with examples(citations) and FACT check them.
