Benchmark – Personal Classroom Management Plan

Creating a personal classroom management plan requires careful consideration of how you envision your classroom culture from your philosophy, procedures, rules and consequences, engagement strategies, professionalism and personal expectations to thoughtful reflection.

For this benchmark, create a classroom management plan  to be used in your future classrooms. You may include revised versions of your work from previous topics in this course. Your classroom management plan should be presented as one cohesive unit. Include a title page specifying the content area of your class and grade of your students as well as a table of contents that demarcates the following sections:

  • Classroom Management Philosophy: Include a revised version of your personal classroom management philosophy that you submitted in Topic 1. Include the culture you plan to promote in the classroom as well as the expectations of you and the students.
  • Classroom Arrangement: Include an illustration of the classroom arrangement to promote student engagement. Classroom Management Philosophy Plan.
  • Classroom  Procedures: Include five classroom procedures with a brief rationale for each that explains how it will optimize time for instruction, help the learning environment to operate efficiently, and promote student engagement.
  • Student Engagement Strategies: Include three engagement strategies that promote positive student behaviors and/or reinforcement of your classroom procedures.
  • Behavior Plan: Describe a rule and aligned consequence system that includes structure for positive and disruptive behavior.
  • Classroom  Technology: A brief description of the technology and software you will use in your future classroom. Explain the purpose and relevant rules or procedures you would implement to ensure that your students use this technology responsibly, collaboratively, and ethically.
  • Collaboration Statement:  Include a 400-500 word statement regarding how you plan to collaborate with students, families, and colleagues to build a safe, positive learning climate of openness, mutual respect, support, and inquiry.
