-Please describe how you have prepared for your intended major, including your readiness to succeed in your upper-division courses once you enroll at the university.
My intended major is Economics, and I have been prepared it for three years. I put a lot of effort into my lower division courses, I studied in the library until 9 pm every weekday. in which convinces myself that I am qualified to learn upper classes well. I always go to see my professors during their office hours to discuss whatever I do not understand. What is more, I am interested in having access to the famous professor like
Nicholas Bloom through online open classes in Coursera; thanks to those quality online open classes, I was able to better understand the knowledge I learned in lower division classes. In order to combine knowledge with real practice, I once actively found the interns related to my major, and I successfully passed multiple interviews and obtained intern chances in big companies like China Securities, which provided me with hands-on experience.
In order to ensure my success in my intended major, I would try my best to learn my every necessary knowledge after involving into university. Meanwhile, I will keep a curious heart towards everything new. Also, I would like energetically to apply interns related to my major in the United States, where has the best economic system in the world. I believe my major talents would get developed as I interact with American society.
Besides, I also like to read history books to find the importance of Economics in history, this would benefit me on better understand Economics itself. For instance, Mongolian Empire collapsed by overissue. This proves that a Economics system is important for a country. This also inspires me to learn Economics well to make a contribution to world Econ the….I do not know how to express here..

-Beyond what has already been shared in your application, what do you believe makes you stand out as a strong candidate for admissions to the University of California?
I have more social experiences compared to my peers. I believe the social practices make me stand out as a strong candidate for admissions to the University of California.
Last summer, I worked as an intern in the people’s insurance company of China, one of the top 500 companies in the world, and I was assigned to a project group in the advertising department. One day, my supervisor distributed a project for my team that we had to complete a PPT for advertising a insurance. I assisted them in marketing research in order to recognize the need of our potential clients. Firstly, I searched online to compare similar products. In addition, I introduced this insurance to my friends who might be potential clients and asked them for their
opinion and advice. I analyzed and reported my result to my supervisor that this insurance was too expensive for a single person, they would consider buying one if the insurance could cover all their family number. He thought my idea was good and decided the insurance would cover up to 4 family numbers. And it was written into our advertising PPT. At the end of the internship, my supervisor told me that he was very proud of me because our advertising work succeeded and many families brought the insurance.
This summer, I passed the interview and successfully became a volunteer for China Inner Mongolia International Choral Week, which held by Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Government and International Federation for Choral Music. As I could speak fluent English, I was assigned to be a team leader and I am responsible for arranging twenty volunteers. Our team work was taking a tour for the singers in the city. In order to know their preferences for places they wanted to go, I designed and done a preference survey for them. As most of them chose to have a grassland tour. Then, we went there and had a great time. They appreciated for the great trip I offered to them.
My experience combined with my knowledge and experience make me the ideal candidate for admissions to the University of California.
