I’m looking for a basic C+/B level paper. Thesis should be clear, specific, and complex. Please refrain from using fancy languages. I’ve attached the rubric and outlines of how the essay should look like. I’ve also attached the prompt and the three readings required for it. Close reading analysis should be used to explain the quotes and how it ties in with your thesis/main point, not summary. ANALYSIS is examination, evaluation, dissection, interpretation, original opinion, reading between the lines, connecting to other knowledge, etc. It is the goal of most expository essays. The analyzer starts with a quotation or question and uses it to show his/her understating and interpretation. SUMMARY is recapitulation, review, retelling a story or scene without original thoughts or interpretations. Summary is not the goal of expository essays. It is usually easier than analysis because it requires less thought. Assume that the reader of your essay knows the story and needs just the slightest reminder.

Should be a minimum of 5 pages long (no more than 6-7) with minimum 5 paragraphs (no more than 6 or 7). Each body paragraph should have two quotes from two different readings. For ex) Paragraph 1 contains quotes from passages A and B, Paragraph 2 contains quote from passages B and C, etc. Purpose of each paragraph is to build your argument.

General body paragraph format:

Topic Sentence

Context/Summary leading up to quote from passage A

Quote from reading A

Close reading analysis

Connection to topic sentence/thesis

Transition sentence

Context leading up to quote from passage B

Quote from reading B

Close reading analysis

Connection to topic sentence/thesis

Connection between two quotes from passages (connective analysis)

Transition sentence for next body paragraph
