Information Governance for Mobile Devices

This week we are going to be learning about the integration of mobile devices into your Information Governance program. Mobile devices become the most common digital devices in the world for individual use. There is significant expectation that your organization will integrate the functions of these devices into your workflow. Not only the devices owned and directly managed by your organization, but also those mobile devices owned by the individuals working for you. You must manage, or govern, these devices appropriate controls to protect your organization. We will explore this week the risks presented by both personally owned mobile devices and those owned by the organization but carried outside the physical boundaries of the organization and the steps your organization must make to control them. For your optional additional lecture this week, I’m providing some information about creating your literature review. I want you to know about the resources the University Library and the Writing Center can provide. This will be helpful to you. For your tenth week in this course, we have one chapter from the textbook and three research papers that you will be required to read. The three research papers are available from the University of the Cumberlands online library. You must download and read all three additional research papers. The discussion this week is focused upon the factors presented in the textbook regarding how organizations can cope with the accelerated rise in popularity of mobile devices in the workplace. There are no other portfolio project deliverables due this week.
