.Are Internet Comments Predictable?

Details:

Many websites allow users to post comments. Often, as communities build, in-jokes and memes are developed, which leads people to post the same words or catchphrases many times in different contexts.

This goal of this project is to use machine learning techniques in an attempt to quantify how predictable comment sections actually are. The project involves building a database of anonymised comments from a publicly available source (eg. reddit). A machine learning model (perhaps using LSTM recurrent neural networks, or the recently published GPT-2 model) will be devised and trained using the database. The trained model will then be used to generate interesting observations about the data. This could be a ranking of subreddits by novelty (how unpredicable their commenters are), or a bot that produces predictable responses to other comments.

Use GPT-2 to do this project
